Activities
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Depart in the morning after breakfast and drive southwestwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your 4 Days Gorillas & Wildlife Safari. Bwindi is best known for its Mountain Gorillas, primate presence, and spectacular bird population. En route, you will have a short stop at the Equator for an educational talk as well as a photographic opportunity.
The journey then continues to Mbarara where there will be a stopover stop for lunch. After lunch, drive onwards; a drive that will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda in the Kisoro area before making the final journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Wagatail Eco Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. Remember to go with a packed lunch and water because the time taken to see the Gorillas varies according to the movements of the Gorillas. However, the time of gorilla trekking ranges between 2 and 9 hours depending on the movement of the giant African primates.
The activity is tedious, it entails walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. After the Gorilla Tracking activity, go back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early morning breakfast, embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon. You will have a game drive en route where you might spot games along the way as you transfer to the park headquarters. Watch out for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.
In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel that connects the lakes, Edward and George. The launch cruise will reward you with a game like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and birds at the shores before retiring to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Kampala
Very early in the morning before dawn, you will wake up to have a cup of coffee or a glass of water/ juice then proceed for an early morning game drive. This game drive will take you through the Kasenyi track and the queens’ mile in the park and will reward you with animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, Giant forest hogs, Bushbucks, Warthogs, Hyenas, civets, aardvarks, Leopards, and many more.
After the game drive, you will drive back to your accommodation for a late breakfast and then, later on, drive to Kampala to reach in the evening. For relaxation or to catch your onward flight home.
